Head Operations and Maintenance

Roles and Responsibilities

• Act as Plant-in-Charge for the complete evacuation system, from the 33 kV collection network through both pooling substations and the 220 kV lines to the bays at the CTU grid substation.
• Manage plant operations, including maintenance management, outage management, and subcontractor management.
• Lead the selection, mobilisation and performance management of the O&M sub-contractor, through a single instruction line to its Site Manager.
• Ensure effective client interface and reporting to maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Oversee electrical engineering activities such as EHV substation operation and maintenance.
• Develop strategies for improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime.
• Lead a zero-harm safety culture across our team and sub-contractor teams; own the permit-to-work procedure and audit it independently of the people who operate it.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to power transmission infrastructure.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 18-25 years of experience in Power Transmission Lines & Substations industry.
• Working knowledge of SCADA, substation automation and communication systems (RTU, OPGW / FOTE, PLCC) and of the SLDC / RLDC interface, Indian Electricity Grid Code obligations, scheduling and metering.
• Diploma/B.Tech / B.E. degree in Electrical or relevant field (Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) preferred).
• MBA, or certification in asset management, safety (NEBOSH / IOSH) or protection engineering.
• Prior field experience in Gujarat; working command of Gujarati and Hindi.
• O&M of ISTS-connected renewable pooling stations, or of transmission assets for POWERGRID, a state transmission utility or a private transmission licensee.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale projects involving high-voltage equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance.
