Morrison BIC Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor who is passionate about preaching God’s Word, shepherding his people, and leading a congregation toward spiritual and numerical growth.

About Morrison Brethren in Christ Church, located in Morrison, Illinois, is a small congregation with an average weekly attendance of 25 and a heart for growing in faith, fellowship, and community outreach. We are prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor who will lead and encourage our congregation as we seek to grow and reach others for Christ. A parsonage is available for the incoming pastor.

The pastor will provide biblical teaching and spiritual leadership through Sunday worship services, Wednesday evening prayer gatherings, and oversight of the church’s Sunday school ministry. A key responsibility will be developing and communicating a vision for the church’s future, with an emphasis on community outreach, evangelism, and congregational growth.

The pastor will also demonstrate a heart for compassionate pastoral care through personal relationships, visitation with shut-ins, and encouragement and prayer for those who are hospitalized or facing difficult circumstances.

We desire a pastor who will walk alongside our congregation, recognize its potential, and inspire us to grow together in faith, service, and our mission to share the love of Christ with our community.

Qualifications & Competencies Morrison Brethren in Christ Church seeks a pastor who demonstrates a clear calling to pastoral ministry, a strong foundation in biblical teaching, and a heart for shepherding and growing a congregation.

Candidates should have formal biblical or theological education through a college, Bible college, seminary, or comparable ministry training program, along with demonstrated experience in preaching, teaching, and spiritual leadership. We welcome candidates at various stages of their ministry journey who exhibit spiritual maturity, a servant’s heart, and a desire to lead others in their walk with Christ.

Previous experience or familiarity with Brethren in Christ U.S. is welcomed but not required. Candidates must be willing to review and thoughtfully engage with the BIC Core Values and the Manual of Doctrine and Government, demonstrating an understanding of and willingness to serve in alignment with the denomination’s beliefs and practices before accepting a pastoral call.
