Head Pharmacist

The Head Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the overall pharmacy operations, ensuring proper dispensing and handling of medicines, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, inventory management, and supervision of pharmacy staff. The position also ensures the safe, efficient, and quality delivery of pharmaceutical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure proper dispensing, preparation, storage, and handling of medicines in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Review and validate prescriptions before dispensing medications.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, DOH, and other applicable pharmacy regulations and company policies.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
• Manage medicine inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, monitoring of stocks, and expiry management.
• Monitor controlled and regulated medicines and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments regarding medicine availability, pricing, and procurement.
• Establish and maintain proper pharmacy procedures, controls, and documentation.
• Monitor pharmacy performance and ensure compliance with operational and quality standards.
• Address customer/patient concerns related to medications and provide appropriate pharmaceutical guidance.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and medication-related concerns.
• Prepare and submit required pharmacy reports, records, and regulatory documents.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure proper accountability of medicines and pharmacy assets.
• Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist (RPh) with a valid PRC license.
• Preferably with 3–5 years of relevant pharmacy experience, with supervisory or managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
• Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant pharmacy/inventory systems.
• Willing to work on-site and according to the required pharmacy schedule.
