Head Procurement

Ours is a Bengaluru-based deep-tech company developing software-defined, magnet-free electric motor systems. Its Virtual Magnet Synchronous Motor (VMSM) integrates motor architecture, power electronics and proprietary control algorithms, with applications spanning electric mobility, industrial systems, robotics, defence and cooling. The company states that it is scaling from active customer pilots toward production programmes.

ROLE PURPOSE

Own the organization-wide purchasing and strategic sourcing function, ensuring the right materials, components, services and CAPEX are available at the right quality, cost and time. Build a scalable supplier ecosystem

supporting plant ramp-up, localization and cost competitiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Develop and execute procurement strategy across direct materials, indirect materials, services and CAPEX.

 Lead sourcing for electrical/electronic components, motor components, power electronics, mechanical parts, tooling, consumables and plant requirements.

 Build, qualify and develop domestic and international suppliers where required.

 Lead RFQ/RFI/RFP processes, negotiations, contracts, payment terms and price reviews.

 Drive localization, alternate sourcing, value engineering and total-cost-of-ownership initiatives.

 Ensure uninterrupted material availability for prototypes, pilot production, ramp-up and manufacturing.

 Manage supplier performance for quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness and capacity.

 Partner with Engineering, R&D, Production, Quality, Finance, Stores, Planning and Plant leadership.

 Develop procurement budgets, spend analysis and cost-reduction roadmaps.

 Optimize inventory and working capital while protecting production continuity.

 Identify single-source, long-lead and other supply risks and create mitigation plans.

 Establish procurement governance, approval workflows, documentation and ERP/MIS discipline.

 Lead and develop the procurement team and category ownership.

 Support NPI, engineering changes, supplier nomination, tooling and localization.

 Drive ethical procurement and compliance with company policies and applicable requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS

 Strategic sourcing and supplier-management experience in manufacturing.

 Negotiation, cost analysis and commercial-contract capability.

 Supplier development, localization and cost-down experience.

 Understanding of BOMs, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.

 ERP-based procurement and MIS discipline.

 Strong leadership and stakeholder management.

 Automotive/EV, motors, electronics or power-electronics procurement preferred.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

A commercially strong procurement leader who can operate strategically and hands-on, build a reliable supplier base quickly, understand technology-driven manufacturing and collaborate closely with engineering and plant teams.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
