Opened in 2021 on Flinders Lane, NOMAD Melbourne builds on the foundations of the original Sydney restaurant while embracing the character, produce and energy of its own city. The Opportunity

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the team at NOMAD Melbourne as our Head Sommelier. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced wine professional to take the reins and lead our wine program.

This role offers the chance to work in a vibrant, high-end environment and contribute to the continued success and growth of our wine offering. As Head Sommelier, you will play a key role in curating our wine list, training and mentoring our team, and elevating the guest experience with your expertise and passion. A high degree of autonomy is given in regards to purchasing and wine selections, allowing you to truly grow and develop the program.

Our ideal candidate will have

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an Assistant/Head Sommelier in Hatted or similar level of premium dining restaurants.
• Exceptional guest experience and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of  Australian wines.
• WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced Certification preferred, but not required
• Proven experience in stocktaking and inventory management
• Familiarity with ordering and invoicing procedures
• Experience with POS system programming
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent administrative capabilities
