Health Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes or home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be organised, and have a genuine interest in caring for others. A valid driving licence is desirable for those involved in home care visits.

Duties

• Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Support individuals with their personalised care plans, ensuring their needs are met effectively
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
• Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Support with light domestic tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Travel between care settings or clients’ homes as required, utilising personal transport if necessary

Skills

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a care environment
• Good organisational skills to manage multiple care plans and documentation efficiently
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
• Driving licence preferred for roles involving home visits or travel between locations
• Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
• Flexibility to adapt to different care environments such as care homes or private residences
