The Role China is the world’s second-largest pharmaceutical market and one of its fastest-growing sources of innovation. Chinese companies now account for a significant share of global drug pipelines and cross-border licensing deals, and reliable English-language intelligence on this market is in high demand.

We are looking for an Analyst to help build and maintain GlobalData’s intelligence on the China pharmaceutical market. You will research drugs, companies, pipelines, clinical trials, regulatory events, drug targets/MoA, modality, and the competitive landscape, turning Chinese-language sources into accurate, well-structured English content used by global clients.

Alongside China-focused work, you will contribute to broader pharmaceutical research, including landscape building, modality and therapeutic-area analysis, competitive intelligence and database maintenance, and you will prepare reports, presentations and research summaries for clients and internal teams.

What You’ll Be Doing China market monitoring and research.

• Monitor NMPA, CDE, NHSA and other Chinese regulatory, industry and company sources to identify new and updated information on pipeline/approved drugs, companies and clinical trials.
• Track key drug development events in China, including IND and NDA/BLA acceptances, clinical trial registrations and updates, Breakthrough Therapy and Priority Review designations, conditional approvals and marketing approvals.
• Track corporate and deal activity of Chinese pharma and biotech companies, including licensing and out-licensing deals, partnerships, financings and listings on HKEX, the STAR Market, SSE and SZSE.
• Review company announcements, prospectuses, annual reports, conference presentations (e.g., CSCO) and scientific literature for drug and pipeline information. Sales and Client Support

Content development and data quality.

• Translate and summarise Chinese-language information into clear, accurate English, using correct pharmaceutical terminology and consistent English names for Chinese companies, drugs and drug codes.
• Create and update drug, company and clinical trial records as new information becomes available.
• Cross-check information across multiple sources, identify conflicting or missing data, and raise queries where clarification is needed.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, consistency and timeliness.

Analysis, deliverables and collaboration

• Build competitive landscapes by indication, target, modality and development stage.
• Prepare reports, presentations, research summaries and other client or internal deliverables.
• Work with analysts and subject matter experts across GlobalData’s global offices to share insights and resolve research questions across time zones.
• Support new research initiatives, content development and other China-focused analytical projects as business needs evolve.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree (academic or professional) in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chinese Materia Medica, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology (e.g., Microbiology, Cell Biology, Genetics), Biological Engineering/Biology and Medicine, Basic Medicine (e.g., Immunology), or a related life-science or medical discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, for example in pharmaceutical or biotech companies, CROs, healthcare consulting, market research, competitive intelligence, biotech equity research, medical affairs or regulatory affairs.
• Fluent Mandarin Chinese and professional-level written and spoken English are required
• Extensive understanding of drug discovery and development, including preclinical development, clinical trials (Phase I–IV), registration and post-marketing activities.
