Heat Pump Installer

Job Summary

Buildwick Ltd is seeking an experienced Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Installer to join our installation team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing, commissioning, and maintaining air source heat pump systems for domestic properties. We may also consider experienced Gas Safe Engineers who are looking to become ASHP installers.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission new heat pump systems according to schematics, technical specifications, and safety standards
• Conduct technical surveys when required
• Ensure installations meet MCS standards
• Provide excellent service to customers and homeowners
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing heat pump units to ensure peak performance
• Repair and replace faulty equipment components, including compressors, fans, and electrical controls
• Read and interpret detailed schematics and technical manuals for proper installation and repair procedures
• Carry out system testing, calibration, and commissioning to verify correct operation
• Collaborate with team members on construction projects, ensuring timely completion of installations
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and system diagnostics

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in ASHP or related fields
• Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and system blueprints
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide junior team members or apprentices
• Experience in equipment repair, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues effectively
• Ability to work safely in various settings while adhering to all safety protocols
• Approved ASHP qualifications (preferred)
• NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating (preferred)
• F-Gas qualification (advantage)
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong understanding of retrofit compliance
