Heat Pump Installer (Ducted Specialist)

About the role

We are seeking a Heat Pump Installer (Ducted Specialist) to join the team at Affordable Energy Solutions Limited. This is a full-time position based in East Tamaki, Auckland. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ducted heat pump systems in residential and commercial properties. You will work directly with clients to ensure high-quality installations that meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations. This position is critical to our business, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction and our reputation as a leading provider of energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Installing ducted heat pump systems, multi-splits, hi-walls, and cassette units in residential and commercial properties according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
• Conducting site surveys and assessments to determine the most suitable heat pump solutions for clients
• Preparing and positioning ductwork, pipes, and electrical components required for system installation
• Testing installed systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely
• Providing maintenance and repair services to existing heat pump installations
• Troubleshooting system malfunctions and identifying solutions promptly
• Liaising with clients to explain system operation and provide aftercare advice
• Maintaining accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance work completed
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
• Keeping up to date with industry developments and new heat pump technologies

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or apprenticeship in refrigeration, air conditioning, or heat pump installation
• Proven experience installing ducted heat pump systems in domestic and commercial environments
• Knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to work safely with electrical components
• Competency in reading technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Valid driver's license and reliable transport
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to refrigeration systems is desirable
• Experience with smart home integration and energy management systems would be an advantage
