What they need

Who We Are:

Quest Global delivers world-class end-to-end engineering solutions by leveraging our deep industry knowledge and digital expertise. By bringing together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals and their areas of expertise, we can solve problems better, faster. This multi-dimensional approach enables us to solve the most critical and large-scale challenges across the aerospace & defense, automotive, energy, hi-tech, healthcare, medical devices, rail and semiconductor industries.

We are looking for humble geniuses, who believe that engineering has the potential to make the impossible possible; innovators, who are not only inspired by technology and innovation, but also perpetually driven to design, develop, and test as a trusted partner for Fortune 500 customers. As a team of remarkably diverse engineers, we recognize that what we are really engineering is a brighter future for us all. If you want to contribute to meaningful work and be part of an organization that truly believes when you win, we all win, and when you fail, we all learn, then we’re eager to hear from you.

The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills:

What You will Do:

  • Own and support daily heat treat and weld engineering operations, ensuring processes consistently meet material, quality, and customer specifications.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize thermal processes, including hardening, tempering, annealing, quenching, and controlled cooling, establishing appropriate furnace temperatures, soak times, and cooling rates.
  • Lead pyrometry and heat treat process control activities in accordance with AMS 2750, NADCAP, and applicable internal standards.
  • Maintain and optimize gas, vacuum, induction, and other heat treat equipment through equipment tuning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and calibration practices.
  • Evaluate heat-treated material and components for grain structure, hardness, surface/core defects, distortion, cracking, soft spots, and other process-related conditions, and develop corrective solutions.
  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing issues, including warping, cracking, distortion, and material property variation, and implement corrective actions to improve process performance.
  • Develop, standardize, and improve welding processes and documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), weld parameters, and related process controls.
  • Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to establish, maintain, and standardize welding and heat treat processes in support of NADCAP accreditation and ongoing compliance.
  • Investigate process and material defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with Quality and Operations.
  • Provide technical guidance on material behavior, metallurgy, welding, heat treatment, and resulting material properties to manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Create, maintain, and approve materials and process specifications, engineering documents, work instructions, material notes, and related technical documentation for aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage documentation, traceability, and process records for heat treat and weld operations while ensuring compliance with applicable NADCAP, AS9100, ASTM, AMS, and customer requirements.
  • Drive digitization and process improvements for manufacturing data and workflows using systems such as Solumina, SAP, and Teamcenter.
  • Identify and implement improvements that increase process repeatability, reduce variation, improve quality, and increase manufacturing throughput.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex manufacturing and materials problems requiring engineering judgment, ingenuity, and creative problem-solving.
  • Work directly on the manufacturing shop floor to troubleshoot process bottlenecks, determine root causes, and implement practical engineering solutions.
  • Support customer and internal engineering activities, including technical reviews, audits, corrective actions, and communication of complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.

How You Will Get Here:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or 3–5 years of relevant aerospace/manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in heat treatment, welding, materials engineering, or a related manufacturing environment; 3–5 years preferred for independent engineering responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of heat treat processes, pyrometry, and process controls, including AMS 2750 requirements.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP Heat Treat and Welding, including pyrometry requirements and weld process qualification.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry and aerospace standards, including AMS 2750, ASTM, MMPDS, CMH-17, AS9100, and related customer specifications.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or standardizing WPS, PQR, welding parameters, and welding process documentation is preferred.
  • Experience working with SAP, Solumina, and Teamcenter or similar manufacturing and engineering systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex engineering tasks, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and interface with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and directly support shop-floor operations.
