Heath & Safety Representative

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive OHS / Work Health & Safety Representative on behalf of our client.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a safe workplace, supporting our team with health and safety requirements, and ensuring our site documentation and processes remain compliant with relevant WHS legislation and company procedures.

We are seeking someone who is confident working on-site, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable using HammerTech for safety management, inspections, reporting and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across the workplace and worksites
• Conduct workplace and site safety inspections
• Identify hazards and assist with risk assessments and control measures
• Monitor and report on workplace health and safety compliance
• Assist with incident, hazard and near-miss reporting and investigations
• Maintain accurate WHS documentation and records
• Assist with toolbox talks, inductions and safety meetings
• Support workers and supervisors with WHS requirements
• Ensure SWMS, JSA and other safety documentation is current and compliant
• Enter and maintain safety information through HammerTech
• Follow up outstanding safety actions and ensure corrective measures are implemented
• Assist management with ongoing WHS improvements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Work Health & Safety / OHS qualification or certificate
• Previous experience in an OHS/WHS role within the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience using HammerTech
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and workplace safety requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and confidently communicate with workers, supervisors and management
• A practical, proactive approach to workplace safety
• Current driver's licence
