Are you an experienced Gas Safe Heating Engineer looking for a new opportunity with a professional, friendly and growing local company?

SecureHeat is looking for a skilled, reliable and motivated Heating Engineer to join our team!

We provide high-quality plumbing, heating and boiler services across Berkshire and the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent workmanship, honest advice and outstanding customer service.

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys a varied working day, takes pride in their work and is equally comfortable diagnosing a tricky boiler fault as they are carrying out a new boiler installation.

If you're reliable, experienced and passionate about doing things properly, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position covering domestic heating installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and replacing domestic gas boilers and central heating systems.
  • Carrying out boiler servicing, maintenance and safety checks.
  • Diagnosing and repairing boiler breakdowns and heating faults.
  • Installing and replacing radiators, pumps, valves, heating controls and associated components.
  • Carrying out gas safety inspections and completing relevant certification.
  • Fault finding across a range of boiler manufacturers and heating systems.
  • Attending emergency breakdowns as part of an on-call rota.
  • Communicating professionally with customers and providing clear, helpful advice.
  • Completing job sheets and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Gas Safe regulations and industry standards.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced engineer who can work confidently on their own, solve problems efficiently and consistently deliver a high standard of workmanship.

Essential Requirements

  • CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety qualification.
  • G3 – Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification.
  • Relevant domestic gas qualifications and current Gas Safe registration, or eligibility to be registered through SecureHeat.
  • Proven experience in domestic boiler installations, servicing, breakdowns and repairs.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good knowledge of domestic central heating systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A professional, reliable and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Commercial gas qualifications and/or experience working on commercial heating systems.
  • Experience working with a variety of boiler manufacturers.
  • Experience with heating controls, smart thermostats and system upgrades.
  • Additional plumbing skills and experience.

What We Offer

At SecureHeat, we know that great engineers are essential to delivering the quality service our customers expect.

In return for your skills and commitment, we offer:

  • Competitive salary of £35,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Company van and fuel provided.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • 40-hour working week.
  • A varied workload covering installations, servicing and breakdowns.
  • An established local customer base.
  • A friendly and supportive working environment.
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing local business.

Why Join SecureHeat?

At SecureHeat, we believe in doing things properly.

We want our engineers to feel proud of the work they do and confident that they're part of a company that values quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.

We're looking for more than someone who can simply fix a boiler. We want someone who takes ownership of their work, treats customers and their homes with respect and genuinely cares about getting the job done right.

You'll be joining a team that values professionalism, teamwork and excellent customer service.

If you're looking for a varied role where your skills are valued and no two days are quite the same, SecureHeat could be the perfect fit.

Ready to Join Us?

If you're an experienced Gas Safe Heating Engineer looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

Applicants must hold valid CCN1 and G3 qualifications. Commercial gas qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.
