Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Duties

• Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems in commercial and residential settings
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend lifespan
• Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques
• Conduct mechanical systems repair including plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems to resolve operational problems promptly
• Troubleshoot complex equipment failures using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic devices
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and system performance for ongoing monitoring and compliance
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending appropriate solutions

Skills

• Construction experience with knowledge of building codes and installation procedures
• Service technician experience with hands-on repair of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings
• Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and system installation techniques
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical systems repair
• Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, appliances, and property maintenance
• Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic equipment
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC functions efficiently
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of HVAC/R safety standards
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
• Valid van driver’s license for on-site travel between job sites as needed

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
