Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
• Install new HVAC equipment following schematics, HVAC design plans, and electrical diagrams to ensure precise setup and operation.
• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to maximize efficiency and lifespan.
• Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and conduct equipment repairs with precision.
• Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant lines, drainage, and water supply connections.
• Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to repair or replace faulty components.
• Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs for accountability and future reference.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during every interaction.
• Adhere to safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants (EPA certification required) and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable.
• Support property maintenance tasks as needed to ensure building systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Experience

• Proven experience working as an HVAC technician or service technician with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance.
• Construction experience or familiarity with building schematics is highly desirable for understanding complex system layouts.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration appliances, and mechanical systems repair.
• Knowledge of electrical systems diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; ability to interpret electrical schematics accurately.
• Mechanical knowledge covering plumbing connections, welding techniques, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical systems repair.
• Experience working in field service environments with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC operations efficiently.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications related to ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are advantageous.
• Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively; experience with welding is a plus.
• Strong mechanical skills combined with property maintenance capabilities; previous experience as a mechanic or appliance repair technician is beneficial.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
