Duties

• Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, ventilation fans, and ductwork.
• Diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot system faults efficiently.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately identify problems and implement solutions.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak efficiency while adhering to safety standards.
• Repair plumbing components associated with HVAC systems such as condensate drains and refrigerant lines while ensuring compliance with EPA regulations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems including compressors, motors, fans, valves, and pumps to restore proper function swiftly.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain repairs or system upgrades while providing excellent customer service throughout every interaction.

Experience

• Proven experience working as an HVAC service technician or in a related construction or property maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems.
• Familiarity with electrical diagnostics involving electrical systems within HVAC equipment and building automation controls.
• Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles during installation or troubleshooting processes.
• Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pipe cutters, and specialized diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters.
• Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; additional certifications related to boiler operation or appliance repair are advantageous.
• Construction experience or prior property maintenance background is preferred to handle diverse technical challenges efficiently.

Pay: $27.30 - $32.88 per hour
