Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential settings. Duties

• Install new HVAC systems including equipment such as air conditioners, boilers, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems in accordance with schematics and design plans.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend system lifespan.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing issues using hand tools, electrical diagnostics tools like ohmmeters, and building automation systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, electrical wiring, and control systems.
• Conduct system inspections to identify potential problems early and recommend appropriate solutions to clients.
• Interpret schematics and HVAC design plans accurately for installation or repair projects.
• Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system diagnostics for each job.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including EPA standards for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining technical issues clearly and offering maintenance tips to clients.
• Assist in the installation of building automation systems that optimize HVAC performance and energy consumption.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction or HVAC service technician roles with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems including electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or residential environments.
• Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge of boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, voltmeters, ohmmeters; experience with building automation systems is advantageous.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications related to electrical systems or HVAC design are preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a company van safely is required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
