Heavy Diesel Mechanic

About Us

Condabri Beef (Drury Farming Company Pty Ltd) is a family-owned, vertically integrated agribusiness with operations spanning Feedlotting, Backgrounding, Farming and Logistics.

Located just 18 km from Miles and 25 km from Condamine, our operation includes a 35,000-head feedlot, extensive farming and backgrounding operations, a large transport fleet and a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment.

We pride ourselves on running a professional operation while maintaining the values of a family-owned business. Safety, animal welfare, teamwork, innovation and looking after our people are central to how we operate.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this is a hands-on role responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery and feedlot equipment.

One day you could be working on a prime mover, the next a loader, tractor or piece of specialised feedlot equipment. It's a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a workshop that supports the entire business.

The position operates on a 10 days on / 4 days off roster, providing a consistent roster and genuine work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair heavy diesel machinery and equipment
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing
• Maintain and repair trucks, trailers, loaders, tractors and agricultural equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
• Complete accurate maintenance and job records using Gearbox maintenance management software
• Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor, Storeperson and operational teams to plan repairs and servicing
• Identify potential equipment issues before they become major failures
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with WHS requirements
• Support operators with basic equipment troubleshooting and fault identification
• Contribute ideas to improve equipment reliability, workshop efficiency and preventative maintenance

What You'll Bring

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Fitter or equivalent
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, earthmoving equipment or similar
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Current driver's licence
• Heavy vehicle and forklift licences are advantageous
• Commitment to safe work practices
• A practical, reliable and positive "can do" attitude

Experience in agriculture or feedlots is advantageous but not essential. If you're a good mechanic with the right attitude, we'll teach you the operation.

Why Join Condabri Beef?

• 10 days on / 4 days off roster
• Stable, permanent position with a growing family-owned agribusiness
• Variety of work across trucks, trailers, loaders, tractors and feedlot equipment
• Modern, well-equipped workshop
• Strong focus on preventative maintenance rather than simply reacting to breakdowns
• Supportive Workshop Supervisor and maintenance team
• Opportunity to work across a large and diverse fleet
• Long-term career opportunities as the business continues to grow
• A workplace where good people, practical ideas and quality workmanship are valued

If you're an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic looking for a role where no two days are exactly the same, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now to join the Condabri Beef team. [email protected]
