Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and hydraulic system checks to maximize equipment lifespan.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools to identify issues with wiring, sensors, or control modules.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Inspect and repair transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and other critical mechanical components.
• Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to test machinery post-repair ensuring proper functionality before returning equipment to service.
• Maintain detailed service records, follow OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications, and adhere to safety standards during all repair activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, including hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engine diagnostics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools for automotive and electrical troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions.
• Certification or training in heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.

Pay: $26.88 - $60.00 per hour
