At Didion, we’re not just moving grain, we’re moving the future of food. We’re looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator who’s ready to take charge in a fast-paced, hands-on role that keeps our operations running smoothly and safely.
What You’ll Be Driving (Literally & Figuratively):
- Locomotives, yard trucks, and other heavy machinery that keep our logistics flowing.
- Railcars and trailers — moved with precision and care.
- High-quality food products — loaded and shipped with accuracy and pride.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Operate and inspect equipment.
- Support truck and rail loadouts to meet delivery timelines.
- Perform conductor/grounds duties in the rail yard.
- Keep equipment clean, maintained, and ready to roll.
- Use tech tools to track schedules and maintenance.
- Stay sharp on food safety and workplace safety standards.
What You Bring to the Table:
- High school diploma or GED (bonus points for technical training).
- Experience with locomotives or yard trucks? Even better.
- Manufacturing or food-safe environment experience preferred.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
- Team spirit, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Physical & Environmental Expectations:
- You’re comfortable with noise, dust, heat, and cold.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
- Can work at heights over 20 feet and in confined spaces.
- Communicate clearly via 2-way radio and follow safety protocols.
Why Didion?
- Be part of a purpose-driven team that values integrity, safety, and innovation.
- Operate state-of-the-art equipment in a supportive environment.
- Grow your skills through hands-on training and career development.
- Help us deliver excellence — from the ground up.
