Heavy Equipment Operator

Perform the main tasks of driving and operating various types of heavy project equipment for digging, earthmoving, leveling, or extraction, according to safety regulations.

May transport materials, minerals, or debris to designated project locations. May be responsible for transporting the equipment to the project using a carrier vehicle.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate to management any risks that could compromise the exercise of their activity, and implement appropriate actions in accordance with guidelines.
• Perform equipment maintenance and verify its operation.
• Carry out all technical checks of the day every morning.
• Ensure possession of circulation documents.
• Upon instruction from their Manager, become familiar with the work to be performed.

• Maneuver the equipment according to the terrain and the work to be carried out.
• Slope soils or excavate slopes and verges, dig tunnels.
• Excavate the support (leveling the trench, flat formation, curved, bottom of excavation...) in the area.
• Level the ground (verge, ditch, road...) according to the staking points.
• Collect, load, and transport extraction materials and debris.
• Restore the finished project to a natural appearance (embankments, surface...).
• Ensure the movement and transport of products to the designated locations.
• Ensure the interior and exterior washing and regular maintenance of the equipment and may be required to perform simple repairs.

QHSE Matters:

• Respect the general safety instructions and rules in force within the Company and on the Project site.
• Apply the procedures and rules dictated within the framework of the Integrated Management System.
• Wear the appropriate collective and individual protection equipment (EPC and EPI) at the project level.
• Respect the safety instructions formulated by the manufacturer, contained in the equipment or machine operating manual.
• Check the condition of the equipment to ensure the absence of any failure that could compromise safety and/or the environment and report any anomaly observed.
• Maintain their equipment after each use, check and report any leaks (water, fuel, oil...) to avoid waste and environmental pollution.
• Drive, operate, and use their equipment professionally, with caution... and in strict compliance with safety regulations.
• Communicate any malfunction or relevant information related to the activity to their management.

Desired Candidate Profile

General training: PL, SR license, good physical condition.

Professional training: Certificate of Aptitude for Safe Driving, certificate of aptitude for operating machinery.

Professional experience: 05 years.
