Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery to support civil/site construction, infrastructure, and other project needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy equipment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to perform tasks efficiently and accurately. While a CDL is a plus, it is not mandatory for this position. Most work is prevailing wage, with the pay rate indicated for non-government projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes to complete construction and site development tasks.
• Ensure all machinery is operated safely and in compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to execute tasks effectively.
• Assist with site preparation, grading, digging, lifting, and material handling as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety protocols.

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery in construction or related environments.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• CDL A license is considered a plus but not required.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 48.0 per week
