Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview
We are looking for experienced, performance-oriented, operators to join our team near Quesnel, BC.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for safe and effective operating and a well-rounded background that includes extensive experience in open pit excavation planning and execution using dozers, excavators, and articulated haul trucks.

Our small, high-performance, production placer mining environment requires individuals with a strong production-oriented work ethic, a collaborative and solution oriented mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Skills and Experience Desired

• A strong operating history across a variety of equipment with proficiency in excavator and dozer work
• Ability to plan and execute mass excavation from stripping through to reclamation in open pit environments
• An excellent safety track record
• A solution oriented mindset and excellent communication skills
• A proven ability to find efficiencies and problem solve in a variety of environments
• A history of meeting project deadlines and exceeding deliverables
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment
• Comfort working from a camp environment on long rotations

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate excavations and material movement using dozers, excavators, and articulated haul trucks
• Ensure safety protocols are followed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Basic equipment maintenance including daily walk-around inspections

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Experience:

• Excavator operation: 3 years (preferred)
• Loader operation: 3 years (preferred)
• Rock Truck operation: 1 year (preferred)
• Dozer operation: 3 years (preferred)
