Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview
Well established business 70+ year old seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery and a strong understanding of mechanical systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment on job sites, contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavator, grader, backhoes, trenchers, bulldozer, and other types of machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Works with and assists the grading or paving crews to remove or install stone, dirt, asphalt pavement or storm water systems with or without the use of heavy equipment.
• Occasionally operates jackhammers, saws, and other small equipment and tools as required.
• Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic control systems.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks and adhere to project timelines.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in building structures and preparing sites for construction activities.

Skills

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Commercial driving experience is preferred for transporting equipment and materials.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on machinery.
• Experience with concrete mixers, dump trucks, water trucks, and bulldozers is highly desirable.
• Ability to work well in a team environment while following instructions from supervisors.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with crew members and project managers.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
