What You'll Do

As a Crane Operator, you'll play a vital role in supporting daily production, maintaining safe operations, and helping keep materials moving efficiently throughout the facility.

• Operate hydraulic and/or cable cranes to lift, move, stack, sort, and position materials safely and efficiently
• Load and unload trucks, containers, railcars, and processing equipment
• Transport scrap metal and recyclable materials throughout the yard and production areas
• Verify load weights and lifting capacities to ensure safe operation at all times
• Coordinate crane movements with ground personnel using radios, hand signals, and verbal communication
• Monitor work areas for hazards, equipment conflicts, and unsafe conditions
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and pre-operational safety checks
• Identify and report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or operational concerns
• Assist with material sorting, staging, and production support activities as needed
• Maintain accurate inspection and operational records
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and operating procedures
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment in an industrial environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous crane operating experience
• Experience operating hydraulic or cable cranes
• Heavy equipment operation experience
• Background in recycling, manufacturing, construction, steel, demolition, logistics, or industrial operations
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills

What a Typical Day Looks Like

You'll spend your day in the operator's cab moving materials, loading trucks, supporting production activities, and helping ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. Every shift brings a mix of equipment operation, teamwork, and problem-solving in a fast-paced industrial environment where your skills make an immediate impact.

Work Environment

This position is based in an active recycling facility and includes:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, dust, and noise
• Working around moving vehicles and production equipment
• Occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work based on operational needs

Required PPE is provided, and safety remains our top priority.
