Location: Apapa, Lagos

Salary: ₦250,000 – ₦500,000 per month (Negotiable based on qualifications and experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are currently recruiting for our client in freight forwarding industry, a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician with a strong background in the repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and overhaul of Kalmar container-handling equipment. If you have hands-on experience working with reachstackers, straddle carriers, and heavy-duty forklifts, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

-Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty container handling equipment.

-Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on: Kalmar DRU450-570 Reachstacker Series, Kalmar Straddle Carriers, Kalmar 10–20 Ton Forklifts

-Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, transmission, and engine systems.

-Conduct inspections and prepare maintenance reports.

-Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.

-Ensure equipment availability and reliability for terminal and industrial operations.

-Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

-Accurately document repairs, spare parts usage, and maintenance records using computerized systems.

Requirements

✅ Proven experience repairing and servicing Kalmar reachstackers, straddle carriers, and heavy forklifts.

✅ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, PLCs, and heavy equipment diagnostics.

✅ Ability to use diagnostic software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

✅ Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and digital reporting platforms.

✅ Ability to work independently and within a technical team environment.

✅ Technical certification or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Heavy Equipment Engineering is an advantage.
