Heavy Fabrication Engineers

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, and oversee fabrication of heavy machinery components, Transformer Tanks and Pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.
• Develop and review engineering drawings, process sheets, and fabrication standards.
• Supervise shop-floor operations including welding, cutting, bending, and fabrication of large parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards (ISO, ASME, AWS), and client specifications.
• Collaborate with design, planning, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce cycle time and costs.
• Conduct inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality audits of fabricated components.
• Manage vendor coordination for outsourced fabrication.
• Train and mentor technicians and operators in advanced fabrication techniques.

ualifications

• Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing or large-scale fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, MIG, TIG, SAW), machining, and sheet/plate metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Familiarity with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fabrication of pressure vessels, heavy machinery, or structural steel.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and automation in heavy fabrication.
• Exposure to project management and resource planning.
• Ability to manage large teams and coordinate across multiple departments.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
• NDT qualifications would be an added advantage.
