About the Role

As a Machine Operative / Recycling Site Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our recycling operations. You will be responsible for operating plant and machinery, handling recyclable materials, maintaining site standards, and supporting the efficient processing of waste streams in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate plant and machinery, where trained and authorised.
• Sort, process, and handle recyclable materials.
• Load and unload vehicles and containers safely and efficiently.
• Assist with waste management and recycling activities across the site.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Carry out daily equipment inspections and report any defects.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet operational targets.
• Support general site duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

✅ Full UK Driving Licence

✅ Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards

Desirable

✅ Previous experience within recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or production environments

✅ Experience operating loading shovels, telehandlers, excavators, or other plant machinery

✅ CPCS, NPORS, or relevant plant operation certificates

✅ Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence

✅ First Aid qualification

• Monday to Friday - other shifts available
• Overtime available

Licence/Certification (preferred):

• CPCS/NPORS Plant Operator Card
• Forklift Licence
• Full UK Driving Licence

Experience (preferred):

• Recycling/Waste Management: 1 year
• Plant Machinery Operation: 1 year
