Position Overview The Help Desk Technician I supports the mission of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by assisting the Service Desk in providing 24/7 IT support to CDC staff. This role supports enterprise IT operations, collaborates with Service Desk personnel, and uses designated IT support tools to deliver responsive technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities Service Desk Support

• Support the Service Desk weekend team.
• Collaborate with other CDC Service Desk staff.
• Assist in providing 24/7 IT support to CDC staff.
• Drive key policies and procedures for IT support.

Technical Support

• Utilize IT support tools provided by the Customer Engagement Branch.
• Provide Windows 11 support.
• Support O365 applications and VPN-related issues.

Qualifications Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience

• 2+ years of related experience.

Skills

• Technical skills with O365 applications and VPN support.

Other Requirements

• Schedule:

• Saturday–Sunday, 5:00 AM–6:00 PM

• Monday–Tuesday, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM

• New employee training schedule:

• 7:30 AM–4:30 PM for four weeks
