HGV Class 1 and Class 2 Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced and inexperienced* drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods using flatbed/ curtain side/low loader/Moffett's/Hiab vehicles and requires adherence to all relevant road safety regulations and company policies.

*Training is provided for inexperienced drivers*

Duties

• Operate HGV Class 1 or 2 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with legal and company standards
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries and collections
• Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
• Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
• Assist with loading and unloading goods where necessary using Moffett's or Hiab's
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations during driving and loading activities
• Communicate professionally with clients, dispatchers, and team members throughout the day

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
• Valid driver CPC
• ADR license is also welcome but not essential as training will be provided
• Proven experience in commercial driving preferred but not essential
• Experience with flatbed lorry operations is highly desirable
• Experience in operating Moffett's or Hiab's also welcome but not essential as full training is provided.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks and delivery routes
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety checks and maintenance procedures
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
• Prior experience in driving flatbed vehicles or similar is advantageous
