The Opportunity

What We Offer

The Role

Working from our Sheffield operation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of shipping containers between ports, rail terminals, container depots and customer premises.

You will play an important role in ensuring collections and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport shipping containers safely and efficiently using an articulated vehicle and skeletal trailer.
• Complete container collections and deliveries in accordance with daily schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure containers and equipment are checked and secured correctly before travelling.
• Comply with drivers' hours regulations, tachograph requirements and road transport legislation.
• Follow site-specific health and safety procedures at ports, depots and customer premises.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and proof of delivery records.
• Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding progress, delays and any operational issues.
• Maintain a professional standard of driving, vehicle care and customer service.

What We're Looking For

• A valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid digital tachograph card.
• A responsible, safety-focused and professional attitude.
• Good communication skills and reliability.
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Previous experience in container haulage is desirable. However, drivers with suitable Class 1 experience and a willingness to learn the container operation are encouraged to apply.
