HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our family business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods/products on a regular Monday-Friday route. Start time is midday, shift duration average 10/11 hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving. Candidates should possess a valid HGV licence/ up to date driver CPC card and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV vehicles in compliance with legal and company standards
• Safely load, secure, and unload goods, ensuring the integrity of product during transit
• Conduct pre-journey safety checks and routine vehicle inspections
• Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to driving hours regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
• Communicate professionally with transport team regarding delivery times and any issues encountered
• Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving, similar large lorries
• Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E) is essential
• Knowledge of current driving regulations and compliance requirements for commercial vehicles
• Ability to handle tasks associated with loading and unloading product
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance

Pay: £905.00-£1,075.00 per week
