HGV Class 1 Driver

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to deliver pallets on time to our customers. Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining punctuality and accuracy in deliveries
• Secure loads properly, especially when handling flatbed cargo, ensuring safety during transit and at delivery points
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or delays
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, adhering to safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and accountability

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed loads
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
• Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo safely
• Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
• Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed to meet delivery schedules
• Over 25 only

Pay: £16.00-£19.00 per hour
