Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including trucks, adhering to all road safety laws and company policies
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure optimal safety and compliance
• Load and secure cargo ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening for safe transportation
• Plan efficient delivery routes, manage delivery schedules, and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and mileage records
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients during drop-offs and pickups
• Follow all health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on transportation or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) and road safety standards
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading
• Good organizational skills for route planning and documentation management
• Effective communication skills to liaise with dispatchers, clients, and team members
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and deliver in various locations
