HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties

• Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with legal and company regulations
• Conduct pre-journey safety checks on vehicles and equipment
• Deliver goods to specified locations, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo, particularly on flatbed vehicles
• Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
• Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies during transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
• Ensure the security of cargo during transit and at delivery points

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for HGV vehicles
• Experience with flatbed lorry operations is highly desirable
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo on flatbeds
• Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules
• Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
