HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills.

Duties

• Trunking only - no loading or unloading required
• Trailer swaps
• Double Decker experience required
• Operate flatbed lorries for local and regional deliveries, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times whilst maintaining safety standards.
• Load and secure cargo appropriately on flatbed vehicles, ensuring all items are transported securely.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal and company requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation legislation, including hours of service regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transport.
• Ability to operate a flatbed vehicle safely under various weather conditions.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
• Physically fit to load, unload, and secure cargo as required.
