HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
• Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper handling of goods and equipment
• Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize efficiency and meet scheduled delivery times
• Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, including delivery notes, logs, and vehicle inspection reports
• Communicate professionally with dispatch teams, clients, and warehouse staff to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
• Follow all company policies related to driving hours, rest periods, and safety procedures to ensure compliance

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 license (C+E)
• Prior experience operating trucks is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to handle delivery driver responsibilities efficiently and safely
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices for freight security and handling
• Familiarity with route planning tools and GPS navigation systems
• Strong attention to detail in vehicle inspections, documentation, and cargo securing practices

Pay: £17.85-£20.89 per hour
