HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, primarily trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will ensure timely service, uphold safety standards, and contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain. Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
• Load and secure cargo on flatbed trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety during transit
• Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays
• Deliver goods promptly to various destinations, providing excellent customer service throughout each interaction
• Complete all necessary documentation such as delivery logs, inspection reports, and mileage records accurately
• Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered on the road

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicle operation
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations for large vehicles and safe driving practices
• Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
• Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading cargo safely
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
• Attention to detail for completing accurate documentation and inspection reports
• Valid HGV Class 1 license with relevant endorsements; previous experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable

Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour
