HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure that our customers receive their shipments on time while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including trucks, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
• Load, secure, and unload cargo on trucks with precision, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening
• Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery deadlines
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients, colleagues, and third-party partners

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with loads and delivery operations
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation
• Experience with delivery driver duties, including cargo securing and route planning
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo when necessary
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required

Pay: £17.00-£21.00 per hour
