HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. This role offers an opportunity to deliver goods efficiently and safely across various locations within the UK. As a member of our transportation operations, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and providing excellent service to our clients. We operate a one vehicle one driver policy

Duties

• Safely operate a Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a focus on curtain sided transportation, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, managing time effectively to meet scheduled deadlines
• Secure loads properly, ensuring cargo stability during transit and upon arrival
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any issues to the office
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C + E) driving license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in delivery driver roles involving multiple deliveries.
• Occasional nights out required
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo handling
• Strong driving skills with the ability to navigate urban and rural routes confidently
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and inspection protocols

Pay: £16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 – 60.0 per week
