HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on flatbed and commercial driving to contribute to our operations efficiently and effectively.

Duties

• Operate flatbed lorries for the transportation of goods to designated locations
• Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met
• Secure cargo properly using appropriate straps and equipment to prevent movement during transit
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered en route
• Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, regulations, and company policies during all driving activities
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles
• Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles (category C+E or equivalent)
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in freight transportation
• Ability to undertake route planning efficiently and adapt to changing schedules as needed
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance records
• Good physical condition, capable of handling cargo loading/unloading tasks when required
