HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our night-shift team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate large commercial vehicles, primarily focusing on deliveries, during overnight hours. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will help us maintain high standards of service and safety while supporting our dynamic supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including trucks, during night shifts to deliver goods to multiple destinations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and vehicle condition.
• Load and unload cargo with precision, adhering to proper securing procedures for deliveries.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays.
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and driver logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
• Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly similar freight types.
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial vehicles.
• Delivery driver experience preferred, with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds.
• Good communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and customers.

Pay: £20.50-£24.00 per hour
