Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and readiness for each journey
• Load and secure cargo efficiently on flatbed trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to load safety standards
• Deliver goods to designated locations across various routes, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times
• Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during shifts
• Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, reporting any mechanical concerns promptly

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed or similar freight transportation
• Demonstrable driving skills with a valid HGV Class 1 license and a clean driving record
• Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially within logistics or freight sectors
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for securing cargo on flatbed trailers
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and navigate efficiently across routes
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
