HGV Class 1 Night Driver

We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused Class 1 Night Driver to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods while delivering a high standard of service to our clients. The position may involve long-haul or regional routes, including occasional overnight stays depending on scheduling.

Salary: £40,000 per year Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle safely and professionally
• Transport goods to and from designated locations on schedule
• Carry out pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle and equipment checks
• Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and inspection documentation
• Load and unload freight when required
• Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies
• Communicate clearly with dispatch teams and customers
• Ensure cargo is secured correctly and report any issues promptly
• Perform minor maintenance checks and report vehicle defect

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record
• Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience (preferred, but new passes considered)
• Ability to operate a range of trailer types
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines
• Physically able to lift and handle cargo when required
