HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating large flatbed trucks on long-distance journeys, primarily focusing on delivering goods to various locations across the country. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work independently while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. You will play a vital part in maintaining our high standards of service, safety, and efficiency on the road.

Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks with flatbed trailers across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal standards
• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure fastening of flatbed loads for safe transit
• Plan optimal routes for efficient delivery schedules, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
• Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during trips
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients, customers, and colleagues

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed transportation and long-distance deliveries
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety procedures for HGV vehicles
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 1 license
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds and performing vehicle inspections
• Good navigation skills with experience using GPS systems and route planning tools
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently over extended periods away from home
• Prior experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable

Pay: £45,000.00 per year
