We are a small, family-run haulage business based in Goole and are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Driver for regular work, predominantly on our Amazon Relay contracts.

This is regular contracted work based around a 5-shift-per-week schedule.

The working pattern is not fixed Monday to Friday. Our contracts operate on different schedules, so working days and start times vary. Shifts may start early morning, during the day, late afternoon or at night, and the schedule may include weekends.

You must therefore be comfortable with tramping, flexible working days and variable start times.

Shifts are typically around 10–12 hours, depending on the route, traffic and operational requirements, and always subject to drivers' hours regulations.

Pay

£210 per shift

+ £26.20 per qualifying night out

+ VAT where applicable

Paid weekly against invoice.

We are looking for drivers operating on a self-employed basis or through their own Limited Company, subject to the appropriate employment-status requirements.

The work

• Regular 5-shift-per-week contracted work
• Predominantly Amazon Relay work
• HGV Class 1 tramping
• Variable start times – early mornings, days, late afternoons and nights
• Working days may include weekends depending on the contract schedule
• Typically 10–12 hours per shift
• UK-wide routes
• Trailer collections, deliveries and trailer swaps
• Daily vehicle walkaround checks
• Correct use of the digital tachograph
• Reporting defects, delays or operational issues promptly
• Keeping paperwork and PODs organised
• Looking after the truck and equipment

• Confident with drivers' hours and tachograph rules
• Serious about daily vehicle checks and compliance
• Good with paperwork and PODs
• Able to communicate promptly if there are delays or problems

Requirements

• HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence
• Minimum 2 years' Class 1 experience
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 6 points on driving licence
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• Previous tramping experience preferred
• Previous Amazon Relay experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
