HGV Class 2 Driver

Duties

• Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a focus on deliveries, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and traffic laws
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, managing time effectively to meet schedules
• Secure loads properly on trucks, ensuring stability during transit and compliance with weight limits
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
• Load and unload goods at various delivery points, verifying accuracy against delivery notes
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with trucks and delivery routes
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
• Delivery driver experience with excellent navigation skills and route planning abilities
• Ability to secure loads properly on flatbeds and handle physical aspects of loading/unloading
• Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet operational demands

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
