HGV Class 2 Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver who will also operate a Cable Granulator to join our family run business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine professional driving with hands-on equipment operation, contributing to efficient waste processing and recycling operations. You will be responsible for safely transporting materials to designated locations while ensuring the smooth running of the cable granulation process. Duties

• Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) hook loader for the delivery and collection of materials, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Secure, and unload cargo using appropriate equipment.
• Drive confidently across various routes, adhering to schedules and maintaining punctuality for deliveries and pickups
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and operational documentation to ensure compliance and traceability
• Assist with site duties as required, including setting up equipment or supporting other team members in operational tasks

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with HGV Class 2 vehicles (hook loader).
• Experience is highly desirable, demonstrating a strong understanding of safe loading/unloading practices and route planning
• Familiarity securing diverse cargo types
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and equipment operation
• Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency

Pay: £31,200.00-£36,600.00 per year
