Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Driver Class 1 to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load, secure, and unload cargo on flatbed trailers, ensuring proper handling and compliance with safety standards
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to maintain optimal safety and performance
• Plan efficient delivery routes to meet schedules while minimizing delays and fuel consumption
• Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed trailers and cargo securement
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transportation laws
• Delivery driver experience preferred, with excellent navigation skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo on flatbeds
• Good communication skills and a responsible attitude towards safety and punctuality

Pay: £24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
