Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver (Skip work)

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Hours: 40 hours per week

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
• 1 hour total breaks throughout the day
• Overtime available

Pay: £13.50 ph
Holiday: 20 days + UK Bank Holidays
Parking: On-site parking
PPE: Provided
Probation: 3-month probation period

The Role

Autosave is seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our transport department. Based in Bury, Greater Manchester, Autosave is one of the UK’s largest family-run scrap vehicle dismantler & metal recyclers, with nearly 40 years of industry experience.

This is a full-time, permanent position primarily operating an 18 tonne chain skip truck, transporting scrap metal to and from various locations. The role offers a great opportunity to join a supportive company that values development, reliability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Chain skip truck driving
• Ensuring safe loading, transport, and unloading of materials
• Completing daily vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Planning routes effectively and managing delivery schedules
• Driving other fleet vehicles to support operational needs, including:
• 8-wheel hook loader
• Assisting with collections and deliveries during busy periods or holiday cover

Skills and Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence – essential
• Driver CPC qualification – required
• Previous experience driving skip/ hook lift vehicles preferred
• Experience within scrap, waste, or similar industries beneficial but not essential
