HGV Driver

Overview

We are looking for a full time or summer season driver to join our small, friendly yet dynamic team as a flat bed tipper HGV Driver and take charge of delivering aggregates efficiently and safely across various locations in and around the local Somerset area. This role is perfect for motivated drivers who thrive on active, hands-on work and enjoy navigating different routes. As an essential part of our logistics operation, you will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties

• Operate flatbed tipping trucks, to transport goods securely to designated destinations
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with road regulations
• Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper securing of loads on flatbed tipping trailers
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip
• Communicate effectively with the office regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every journey

Requirements

• Valid HGV driving license with a clean driving record
• Up to date CPC
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed tipping trucks
• Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability in fast-paced environments
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting large or fragile loads
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbed tippers
• Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude at all times
• Early starts on occasion

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
